2. COTECNA branch registers the import contract and sends the exporter a form. The exporter fills in the form and submits it to COTECNA branch.
3. COTECNA reviews the transaction contract and determines the price and import tax rate.
4. The original document with the confirmed price and tax rate is handed over to the exporter, and the copy is sent back to the Lomé Office.
5. After receiving the copy, the importer submits it together with other documents to Togo Customs and goes through customs clearance procedures.

After the imported goods arrive at the port, the free storage period is 3 days. From the 4th day, storage fees (port storage fees) will be charged. The maximum storage period is 4 months. If the importer fails to pay the fees and pick up the goods within 4 months, the customs will announce an auction of the detained goods and use the proceeds from the auction to pay the customs and port fees.
